Framed Dried Flowers

Framed Dried Flowers

I’ve talked about the different ways to dry flowers in a previous blog post, but last night I hosted a DIY happy hour and we used those dried flowers to create! We all gathered at Ohio City boutique, Wild Cactus, to shop, drink and snack on Mama Bear Bakery cookies before we started to craft.

Since the summer I had be saving a portion of my harvested flowers to press and dry for use when fresh flowers are no longer in season. The month of December is the perfect time to get together and treat yourself or a friend and possibly make something to gift to a loved one! Or, to decorate your home with joy during a less than sunny season. So, we decorated floating frames with everlasting flowers!

The project was pretty simple, the supplies needed are minimal and it would make a unique hostess gift for all of the parties you are about to attend!

Supplies Needed:
one floating frame of any size
pressed dried flowers (this blog post will help you chose what kind of flowers to use)
E6000 clear adhesive with precision tip
scissors

Directions:
-
Arrange your pressed flowers onto your frame before trimming the stems and gluing.
-When you have the design perfected, squeeze a little glue on to the back of each stem and press onto glass.
-Let dry a few minutes before closing up frame.
-Use windex to clean up frame if needed.
-Hang out of direct sunlight to keep the colors as vibrant as possible
