Annual Harvest Dinners with North Brooklyn Mutual Aid

The annual Harvest Dinner for North Brooklyn Mutual Aid is an event I am so proud of. It is so much fun to collaborate with local chefs and create a unique menu to serve to community. The perfect way to end a fruitful season of gardening in McCarren Park!

The planning begins in mid summer when we start to know what we will have an abundance of at the end of the season. We reach out to local chefs and ask if they would like to collaborate on this community meal and start creating dishes together around the ingredients. Once the menu is planned, the harvests are delivered to each restaurant, and each individual dish is put together. In one night over a dozen different local restaurants create one big menu and we call it the Harvest Dinner. Possibly the most memorable night in North Brooklyn for me every year.
